Choosing the right battlefield to maximize your potential win

The most profitable tables are the ones with the weakest players (loose and passive players are your favorite opponents). But – how can you find them?
There are several ways to solve that problem. When you look at the table list in the poker room's lobby, sort the tables by their average pot size. A high value usually means that you will find loose players here. These tables tend to be profitable – but because of this they also attract good players. Some poker sites like Full Tilt also show show a percentage of the players who have seen the flop at a specific table – another indicator of loose play.
Another way is the buddy lists that poker rooms offer. Whenever you encounter a bad player, add him to your buddy list. Later, you can search for those players and take places at their tables. But it is a fact that on the low levels a high percentage of players play very bad poker, and after having understood the concepts in this document you will already have a distinctive long-term edge over them – as long as you play by using our guidelines.
Later, you can use special software programs (like Holdem Manager 2, see here for more info) to gather infos about the other players while you play and find out about how they play. These informations give you another advantage over your opponents.
