Slowplaying

When you try to keep players in the game by playing your strong holdings weakly, you are slowplaying. It is something you should not do unless you have a hand that cannot be beat.
The reasons are:

At the low levels, players call your bets with their weak holdings anyway
You may give your opponents free cards, you loose bets
They get to see the turn or river cheaply and may beat you there when a miracle card appears

Note: Winning a few bets through slowplaying may be nice sometimes, but the loss of a whole pot through slowplaying is a catastrophe!
